The loans can be used for interior and exterior home improvements.

Repair packagers are not subject to the certified packaging process for purchase loans. Information regarding the 504 packaging process can be found in HB , Chapter 3, Attachment 3-A. Property must be in compliance with city and county rental requirements. Landlords must apply and meet Home HeadQuarters’ flexible underwriting standards in order to access loan funds. SHARP provides income-eligible city of Syracuse homeowners with grants of up to $1,500 for exterior and/or interior emergency home repairs. This program is made possible with funding from the federal government’s Community Development Block Grant Program through the City of Syracuse. FlexFund provides homeowners throughout Central New York with loans of up to $20,000 for home repairs or energy efficiency-related improvements. There are no income, location or project restrictions with this loan program.
